The first few months!

Hello Magsterfarians!
I must apologise for the delay in this blog. I have been suffering from a Cervical Radiculopathy…. codename… a pinched nerve in my neck and shoulder. It is not serious but has been very painful at times and you also lose some of the use of your arm and hand, due to muscle weakness. That pain in the proverbial has now mellowed, so I can write again.
So, Magster and the Light of the Ladybird was published on May 4th 2022. What has my journey been like, thus far?

Quite simply, it has been fantastic but, of course, not without its struggles. These challenges will be ongoing throughout my career as an author, so I can talk about them another time, in depth.
This initial blog is more about what has happened since releasing a book, for the first time.
Firstly, I am so pleased that I brought the Magster series into the world! Let’s not beat around the bush…The series, especially book one – Magster and the Light of the Ladybird- was created from a very sad place of loss and grief. But, to have turned it into something so positive that people have liked, I cannot tell you, how happy I am and would like to give such a huge thank you to all those that have bought it, read it and supported it, along the way!
Magster and the Light of the Ladybird is now in a number of school libraries and has fans (who are also teachers and librarians), around the country. I have also, just confirmed, that Northants Council libraries, will accept Magster and the Light of the Ladybird, across all their libraries and I am in the process of discussing author events with them, as well. So, I look forward to working with them, in the future
So, now down to the business of the business….

Have I sold any books?
Yes! I have. More than I expected, in the timescale. However, this a long game and I am not going have a tik-a-tape parade, anytime soon.

Have I had reviews from professionals?
Yes! I have….and they have been pretty decent. See some reviews from the Goodreads link below:

So, what else has happened?
I have received some interest from some local press. Please see below:

Abby and the team, really loved Magster’s first outing and I thank them for including me in their editorial.

Well, what else have I learned?
I have learned that the Children’s Publishing community are a lovely bunch! They are as lovely in real life, as they are on social media. I have had the chance to meet some real legends of the game and also, I have chosen a charity to align with, when making donations from book giveaways and events. My chosen charity is All Dogs Matter…check them out, they are doing great things for dogs that need re- homing.

So, to finish up for now, I really need to thank Neil Lawson, for his wonderful book cover design! and also Silverwood Books for partnering with me, in getting the first Magster book, out into the world.

I look forward to getting more in depth, about more specific subject matter, at a later date.

Take care and see you next time!

Kit xx
